Request an assessmentDoes My progress cost anything?
No. Creating your account, recording your weight, saving your goal and viewing your charts is completely free. No card is required and there are no payments or purchases within the tool. You do not need to be an Askabide patient.
Askabide consultations and treatments are separate services. Using My progress does not require you to book them.
Do I have to weigh every food?
That is not the centre of the doctor’s usual approach. Food choices, preparation and meal organisation are discussed according to your medical assessment. More specific guidance can be explained if your circumstances require it.
Are hunger and fullness taken into account?
You can discuss appetite, fullness and how you are managing the guidance at each review. The aim is a manageable plan that can be adjusted; nobody can guarantee the same experience for every person.
Does this mean unlimited food for everyone?
The programme is not a universal instruction to eat without limits. Not weighing every portion does not mean quantities are irrelevant. Specific guidance, tolerance and progress are assessed individually.
Do I need medication to start?
No. The programme is based on food guidance and medical follow-up. Medication is considered only where individually indicated.
Are blood tests requested even without medication?
Yes. The doctor requests them at your first consultation, with or without medication. She gives initial advice and aims to review results the following week, depending on test turnaround.
Can I choose another laboratory?
Yes. You can choose Askabide or another laboratory. Tests are not included in the monthly fee, and results are provided through the channel agreed with the clinic.
Does the monthly fee include four consultations?
It includes a consultation every week during your date-to-date period, not a package limited to four. Depending on the calendar, there may be four or five appointments.
What if I return after a year?
If you have been the doctor’s patient before, the current ongoing fee applies. The initial fee is paid only once. Treatment is reassessed according to your current circumstances.
What happens on a public holiday?
Your appointment is moved within the same week. For medication, the schedule must also respect the required dosing intervals and the doctor’s instructions.
Can I have a video review?
Yes. A phone or video review can be agreed where suitable. Medication administration and other in-person procedures cannot be replaced by a call.
What does the €55 include?
Medication, administration and storage included. * €55 applies to 0.25, 0.5 and 1 mg regimens of the treatment used in this programme. Higher doses or other presentations: confirm the fee before administration. The monthly fee is the same with or without medication. When prescribed, each weekly administration is paid for when provided. Blood tests are charged separately.
Are the €130 and €100 fees final?
First monthly period: €130. Follow-up: €100. Each period runs from date to date and includes a weekly consultation.
Do you only help with weight loss?
No. We also work on maintenance, weight gain, food around physical activity and eating during menopause, subject to individual assessment.
Where does the doctor offer this programme?
Currently at Askabide Donostia and Askabide Gasteiz. Bilbo is part of the network, but this programme is not yet advertised as available there.
Are consultations available in all four languages?
The website is available in Basque, Spanish, French and English. Check consultation languages with reception; website languages do not necessarily indicate clinical consultations in those languages.
Does BMI tell me my ideal weight?
No. It relates weight to height and offers a general guide. It does not directly measure fat or muscle or set a personal target. Age, clinical context and waist measurement help interpret it.
Why does the calculator not ask for sex?
The adult BMI formula uses weight and height and does not vary by sex. Age is requested for eligibility and warnings, not to artificially change the calculation.
Do you store calculator data?
The tool’s code calculates in your browser. Age, weight, height, waist and results are not sent to the server, WhatsApp or analytics tools. No registration is needed.
Can I ask for advice between reviews?
Askabide offers urgent telephone support 24 hours a day. Outside opening hours, call your centre and select the urgent-care option.
