Calculator criteria
The weight/height² formula and general adult categories are used. The tool starts at age 18 following the NHS adult calculator; the CDC page describes categories for age 20 and over. Paediatric percentiles are not used here.
Waist-to-height ratio is an additional guide for adults with BMI below 35. From age 65, a specific note appears and no weight interval is presented as a target.
Colours are a design choice and are always accompanied by text. Body fat is not estimated and medication eligibility is not decided.
